Being a new parent is exciting, but the journey presents many challenges too. Those challenges can be harder, especially for parents of babies born substance exposed. Overall, this toolkit provides important information and local resources available to expecting, and new mothers, as well as their families. The information also offers guidance and steps that will lead to overall health and wellness.

It is important to note that addiction affects millions of Americans. This resource guide also helps those struggling with substance misuse to know what to expect if their baby is experiencing Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS), a term used to describe a set of problems a baby experiences when withdrawing from exposure to drugs, and, mostly important, how to access available support systems.
